Bangladesh emerges as key market for Thailand's MedPark Hospital

In
an interview with The Bangladesh Monitor, Kazi Sharhan Saif, International
Marketing Manager for Bangladesh, South Asia, and Africa at MedPark Hospital,
said, Bangladeshi patient numbers have recorded strong year-on-year growth,
making Bangladesh a priority market for the Bangkok-based hospital.
Demand
for specialized care
According
to Saif, cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, nephrology, fertility treatment,
and critical care attract the largest number of Bangladeshi patients. The
hospital also receives patients seeking neurological, gastrointestinal,
pulmonary, pediatric, and general surgical services.
He
attributed MedPark's growing appeal to its experienced specialists,
multidisciplinary treatment approach, and advanced technologies, including
hybrid operating rooms and image-guided surgical systems.
Comprehensive
patient support
MedPark provides dedicated assistance to Bangladeshi patients throughout their medical journey. Bengali-speaking coordinators and a specialized Bangladesh help desk assist with medical report reviews, appointment scheduling, treatment cost estimates, visa documentation, travel arrangements, airport transfers, accommodation, and interpretation services.
Kazi Sharhan Saif
"Our
objective is to make the entire medical journey as smooth and stress-free as
possible," Saif said.
Expanding
presence in Bangladesh
Reflecting
the market's growing importance, MedPark has opened referral offices in Dhaka
and Chattogram and is preparing to launch a third office in Bangladesh. The
hospital is also exploring long-term partnerships to improve access to
specialized healthcare and strengthen healthcare cooperation with Bangladesh.
Improving
accessibility
To
help patients plan treatment abroad, MedPark provides preliminary medical
assessments and estimated treatment costs before travel. The hospital also
assists with accommodation arrangements and offers guidance on Bangladeshi food
options in Bangkok, helping families manage expenses during extended stays.
Saif
noted that while treatment costs remain competitive among Thailand's premium
hospitals, foreign exchange regulations continue to pose challenges for many
Bangladeshi patients seeking care overseas.
Continuity
of care
Patients
receive detailed medical reports and treatment plans before returning home,
while follow-up consultations are conducted through telemedicine. The
Bangladesh referral office also assists patients with future appointments and
communication with specialists in Bangkok.
