GTech Medical Tourism expands access to China's leading hospitals for Bangladeshis

Dhaka
: GTech Medical Tourism is strengthening its role in connecting Bangladeshi
patients with leading hospitals in China, leveraging simplified medical visa
procedures and growing demand for specialized treatment abroad.
In
an interview with The Bangladesh Monitor, Md Tanveer Ahmed, Managing Director
of GTech Medical Tourism, said the company has built a carefully selected
network of Chinese hospitals to ensure high-quality treatment and reliable
patient support.
A
sister concern of GTech Aviation Ltd, GTech Medical Tourism specializes in
facilitating overseas medical care, with China as its primary destination.
Focus
on quality hospitals
The
company initially partnered with more than 40 hospitals before narrowing its
network to around 15 institutions based on patient feedback and quality
assessments.
Ahmed
said China has become increasingly attractive for Bangladeshi patients because
of its advanced medical technology, experienced specialists, and comparatively
affordable treatment costs. While treatment is generally more expensive than in
India, it remains less costly than in Singapore or Thailand.
Cancer
treatment accounts for the largest share of Bangladeshi patients traveling
through GTech, particularly for brain and lung tumors. Orthopedic surgery and
IVF are also among the most sought-after specialties.
Comprehensive
patient support
GTech
organizes regular seminars in Bangladesh with representatives from Chinese
hospitals and hosts free consultations with visiting physicians every Friday at
its Gulshan office. These sessions allow patients to review medical reports,
explore treatment options, and receive preliminary cost estimates before
deciding to travel.
Once
patients proceed, GTech assists with hospital selection, invitation letters,
medical visas, airfare, accommodation, halal food, interpreters, airport
transfers, and 24-hour support. The company also arranges online follow-up
consultations after patients return to Bangladesh.
