flynas signs USD 3.7bn deal with Airbus to purchase 30 planes

Dhaka: The Saudi Arabian budget carrier flynas signed a USD 3.73 billion agreement with Airbus to buy 30 aircraft, as per reports on June 19.

Bandar Al-Mohanna, CEO and Managing Director, flynas, and Christian Scherer, Chief Commercial Officer and Head of International, Airbus signed the deal on behalf of their respective organisations at the Paris Air Show.

Saleh Al-Jasser, Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistics, Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, President of General Authority of Civil Aviation, and Ayed Aljeaid, Chairman of NAS Holding Board were also present at the signing ceremony.

With the aim of penetrating new long-haul destination markets, flynas’ agreement includes 10 A321XLRs. These planes will join the airline’s existing fleet of 21 A320neos, 13 A320ceos, and four A330-300s.
