Denmark highlights interest in Bangladesh's ports, logistics, renewable energy

Dhaka: Denmark has reaffirmed its interest in expanding cooperation with Bangladesh in strategic sectors, including ports, logistics, and renewable energy, as both countries seek to deepen their economic partnership.

The issues came up during a meeting between Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury and Denmark's Ambassador to Bangladesh Christian Brix Møller, according to a statement the Danish Embassy posted through its official social media handle on July 22.

During the meeting, the ambassador briefed the finance minister on Denmark's broad engagement with Bangladesh, highlighting ongoing and potential cooperation in port and logistics development, dairy, water treatment, renewable energy, and women's entrepreneurship.

The embassy said the discussions reflected Denmark's continued commitment to supporting Bangladesh's economic development through collaboration in key sectors.

"Denmark values its close partnership with Bangladesh. Through regular dialogue and cooperation, both countries continue to advance shared priorities that strengthen the partnership for sustainable prosperity," the embassy said in the statement.

The meeting underscores Denmark's growing interest in infrastructure, logistics, and clean energy as Bangladesh continues efforts to modernize its transport network and accelerate its transition towards sustainable energy.
